Záatar (Za'atar, Zaatar) is a very popular spice mix in the Middle East. Zaatar is a very aromatic spice with a strong pungency. It looks like a spice mix with lots of ingredients, but it's actually a simple mix of a few dried herbs - thyme, sesame seeds and one secret ingredient. The secret ingredient is our beloved Sumac.

This spice is widely used in Middle Eastern cuisine, and it's not hard to find ways to use it! Zaatar can add a subtle flavor to meat or enhance the flavor of fish and poultry dishes. The spice is also used to sprinkle on tortillas, fried vegetables and dishes such as Homos or Tzatziki.
