Garam masala is one of the most famous spices in India. It is sometimes also called the Indian spice of five fragrances. Garam means "hot" (spices are first roasted and then further processed) and masala means "mixture of spices". The mixture has a very wide range of uses. It is used for grilled meat, chicken and vegetables, for fish, rice dishes, sauces and flavoring legumes. The mixture does not contain salt. Compared to the popular curry, Garam Masala is sweeter and has a typical fragrant warming taste, its main ingredients are Cumin and Black pepper.
